This post details last year’s “Share the Love of FMCA” promotion (see the PDF at the end of this post) that ended on August 17, 2024. I’ll venture to say that you probably do not remember it, let alone took advantage. I do and I did. I invited a neighbor who has a towable to join FMCA and save $10. You might say that I saved them much more when you consider the membership price now. I had hoped that they would have been able to join us at GEAR 2024 in Asheville in the fall – but you all recall Hurricane Helene that cancelled that rally. We will be getting together with them in May for a small neighborhood 3-day rally at a nearby state park.
Back to the point of this post. I was trying to sign up for FRVA’s Roadside Rescue program but my membership was due to expire in July. As a result, I was unable to submit my application to Safe Ride Motor Club. I called FRVA and spoke with Bridgit Lynn. I explained that my benefit from said promotion was a FREE YEAR of membership in FRVA. I am happy that I saved my copy of the promotion and I knew my invitee’s names and other information. They had submitted their FMCA membership LATE on Saturday, August 17th (the last day of the promotion) but because that was after hours, it did not get posted until Monday the 19th. And I had done everything correctly as well. Bridgit was not familiar with that promotion and there was no notation in my account/file crediting us with another year of membership. I sent the supporting documentation – as requested – and Bridget indicated that she would look into it or speak to her boss and call me back.
Literally within 5 minutes, I received an e-mail with the news that my membership had been extended for another year! Now THAT is speedy service! Not only that, but Bridgit made certain that we got credit for the referral despite the date difference!! Thank you Bridgeit Lynn !!!! Also, I was immediately able to click through the Roadside Rescue link and submit my information and am covered for my next trip at a cost below CoachNet and Good Sam. This is a good cost-effective benefit for our fellow members.
Now here is my bottom line – READ EVERYTHING that comes from the FRVA offices and take advantage of promotions. There are some going on currently – but YOU NEED to Look them up. It does no good for the marketing or IT departments at FRVA to do anything to promote membership if WE (the members) don’t get behind it and promote or share with with others. Because of this promotion, I saved $100 on membership to FRVA.
