AGENDA FOR EAMA WORKSHOP 8/21/2025

  • Stay current with all Governing Board Announcements & Mailings
  • Eastern Area website updates (frva-ea.com?) (Tim Keppler)
  • Area and Chapter Officer elections – EAMA and our chapters function only when we have volunteers willing to fill open positions. Most chapters have elections in the future, and EAMA currently has all Area positions open this election cycle. Please consider serving, the future of the EAMA and your chapter is at stake!
    • Multiple chapters have or are currently experiencing difficulty with elections:
  • The Eastern Area must also submit the Area Association Officers Form at the end of 2025 to maintain its status.
  • Nominating Committee Letter sent to all members on Tues 8/18/25.
  • The FRVA ANNUAL MEETING & NATIONAL ELECTIONS: July 16-19, 2025 is now history!
    • Officers, delegates, and attendees: please be willing to share your insights as to what you saw and experienced
    • The draft minutes are now in review. We can expect the formal minutes of the Annual Meeting will be published within ~2-3 months in the Governing Board Announcements & Mailings. We could have more discussion then.
  • Recruiting and Retention
    • Monthly new member listings in the EA will be made available on -EA.com under Recruiting and Retention. Phone calls to welcome new members into EAMA are encouraged. A suggested script with instructions is being prepared by Member Services.
    • Two National Office staff members will start attending the large RV shows that occur within Areas (e.g., Hershey, Tampa, and Quartzite). The Area team members will primarily focus on member recruiting and renewals while the National Office staff will provide training as needed and then focus on vendors and commercial members.
  • GEAR25 Update (Dave Fowler)
  • Perry 2026
    • Future changes in Seminars
    • Changes in latitudes, RV Beach Party = Jimmy Buffet, Florida Keys, and Parrot Heads
    • The “heavy lifting” i.e., programming, scheduling, venue layout, contracting, etc., is the responsibility of the Events Department at the National Office.
    • EA involvement is oriented toward a limited number of team captains, and team volunteers. NOTE: Coffee Hour Captain/volunteers has been filled. Possible other opportunities may include Welcome Bags (captain/volunteers), Seminars (captain/volunteers) and the Ladies Luncheon (set up volunteers) may be possible. Further details as they develop.
    • NOTE: team assignments are not assigned! They are all volunteer positions!
    • Planning documents posted on -EA.com: FAQs, Planning Timeline, 2025 Volunteer Handbook (provided for info, 2026 will be posted soon), and Current Opportunities for Chapters and Individuals. Please read and share them!
    • More details as they develop
