Our dinner in Perry was an unqualified success, I think – a new, good restaurant in downtown Perry with a private room and excellent Cajun cuisine. Our thanks to Doug Uhlenbrock for giving us the info on Orleans on Carroll.
And we have already secured what promises to be an excellent venue for our GEAR dinner in Myrtle Beach (don’t try to sign up yet!). GEAR Rallymaster David Fowler found (and sampled) a great local seafood restaurant for us – Wahoos in Murrells Inlet. More on this in months to come.
And finally, heartfelt thanks to Harry and Sandy Hentschel, who have once (twice) again agreed to be hosts for our Summer Convention dinner. We’ll be returning to the Prime Rib in Gillette, WY on Sunday, July 13, 2025 for our pre-Convention meal. Those of you who were there in 2021 or 2023 will remember that we had a great time – good food and excellent service. We will be able to order from a limited (but extensive) menu when we arrive – a copy of the menu is posted at the bottom of this page and hard copies will be provided at the restaurant.

We will be seated in a private dining room and checks can be provided by individual, couples or table.
We will order off of an abbreviated but impressive menu – see copy attached.
Access to an EXTENSIVE Wine List and Bar.
One caution – you’ll note that the dinner is on Sunday preceding the Convention. We really had no choice; FRVA has scheduled conflicting activities beginning Monday and continuing right through the week. Most of you will probably be coming in by Sunday, but if not, you might want to try and arrange for an earlier arrival date.
This is the “official” announcement of the dinner, so it’s time to let us know you’re coming. Please RSVP both to me ( ) and to Harry and Sandy ( ) if you plan to attend. We’ve found that sending to both me and to the hosts cuts down on missed reservations. Reply as soon as you conveniently can – the Hentschels need to give some tentative numbers to the restaurant. Guest/future members are welcome and encouraged – in fact, Harry and Sandy already have several couples signed up!
