I let time slip up on me but wanted to take a moment and wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Since tonight is Christmas Eve, our thoughts are rightly focused on why we celebrate Christmas. For it is because the Son of God, Jesus, was born and he came to earth to be our Savior!
We celebrate Christmas with our families and friends in many ways; decorating a tree with lights and ornaments, exchanging gifts, baking delicious cookies, cakes and gingerbread that we remember from our childhood, watching holiday movies, and of course, sharing great family meals. But let’s not forget that our Savior Jesus was born about two thousand years ago for our salvation, redemption, and to reveal God’s great love for us! No one else could have given us these gifts and for that we are eternally grateful. What a blessing we received that night so many years ago!
Jacky and my prayers are that you will enjoy this time with your family, whatever that looks like in your family. We also pray that God will bless you greatly this holiday season and, in the year ahead.
We will have our great grandchildren with us this weekend for a time. I came across this animated video about the Christmas Story and Jesus, which we will be sharing with them while they are here. Perhaps you can share it with your family also. Click here to watch.
